Mocality Deals is an online group-buying platform that offers you great deals on products and services in Kenya. We offer discounts of 50% or more for a limited time only (usually 24 hours). Group buying simply means that for a deal to work (or ‘tip’), a minimum number of people have to buy the deal. This now means that the deal is on, and anyone purchasing the deal is guaranteed a coupon for the product or service, up to a maximum number of coupons per deal.
What happens when a deal does not tip?
When a deal DOES NOT tip, this means that the minimum number of purchases was not reached within the period that the deal was running. Anyone who had made a purchase for the failed deal will receive a full reimbursement.
How do I buy a deal?
To buy a deal, click the big ‘Buy Now’ button on the deal page, register or sign-in to your account, and then choose how to pay for the deal.
How do I pay for a deal?
Payments can be made through MPESA and VISA Debit or Credit Card.
(We don’t accept Mastercard or Visa Electron at this point in time.)
Can I pay using YuCash, Airtel Money or Orange Money?
Not at the moment, but we are currently setting up these payment gateways which will be operational very soon.
Can I pay in cash?
No, as all transactions are made on our online platform, and as such we cannot accept cash payments.
Do I receive a receipt for my purchase?
Yes, your receipt is available in the form of a coupon. This coupon is used to redeem your products and services after you buy the deal.
When do I receive my coupon?
Coupons become available immediately after a deal tips.
How do I access my coupons?
Coupons are sent via sms and email, and are also available under the ‘My stuff’ tab on the Mocality website.
As you register with Mocality Deals, you will be offered an option of leaving your mobile phone number. If you do decide to include your phone number, your coupons will be sent to you via text every time you purchase a deal that has tipped.
How do I get my coupons from the Mocality Deals website?
After you log in to your account on the Mocality Deals website, you will notice a button on the upper right side of your page that says ‘My Stuff’.
When you click on this button, you will be directed to all your purchased coupons which you can print and present when redeeming the coupon for a product or service.
Can I buy coupons after a deal has closed?
No, as our deals run for a set period of time. Once a deal has run out of time, you will not have access to the payment section and you will not be able to buy the deal. We urge you subscribe to Mocality Deals so you never miss out on our serious deals.
I received an email/SMS that said I have not paid for a deal. Why?
Every time you click the ‘Buy Now’ button and select the items you would like to buy, an order is placed on the Mocality Deals system. If you do not pay for that specific order, an email is sent to your address one hour before that deal closes to remind you not to miss out on the serious deal.
Can my coupons expire?
Yes, the coupons on Mocality Deals have an expiry date. This period varies with each deal. For example, a coupon for a play may run for only one day, while a coupon for household items may be used over a period of 2 months. Please ensure that you use your coupons well before their expiry date which can be found on the ‘Fine Print’ section of your printable coupon.
Why do my MPESA payments say MIH Internet and not Mocality?
Mocality is a division of the MIH Internet East Africa Limited group. All replies from MPESA should be in the name of MIH Internet East Africa Limited.
How do I earn Ksh. 200 credit from Mocality?
Mocality wants you to spread the word about our serious deals. And as a reward, we give you Ksh. 200 Mocality credit for every friend who buys a deal after you have recommended them to our website.
How do I refer friends?
After you log in to your Mocality deals account, click on the blue button written ‘Refer Friends, Get Ksh200’ at the top right section of the page. You will be provided with a link unique to your user account which you can email, share on facebook or tweet.
How can my business run a deal on Mocality Deals?
If you are interested in running a deal on Mocality Deals, you can always email us on deals at mocality dot com and talk to our team. We only accept deals that offer our customers at least 50% off, and we have a strict quality policy on deals that are run.
