The Mocality Team faced many tough challenges, but we can look back at 2010 with a big smile. Today, Mocality is pleased to announce the launch of its agent program into the Mombassa city. We are inviting members of the public who are interested in becoming Mocality agents in the city to register free. Get started by clicking here. Over the last year or so, Mocality has been signing up businesses across Nairobi with the goal of being the biggest and most comprehensive Business Directory in the City. At the end of August, we reached a key milestone – signing up our 60,000th business.

Great News!! We are bringing the Mocality agent programme back on Monday the 20th September, 13h00. We have had an amazing response from agents in Nairobi and would like to thank everybody involved so far!
Erik Hersman has a very nice piece on Mocality over at whiteafrican.com. Since we launched our crowdsourcing application, enabling anyone in Nairobi to get paid via M-Pesa to contribute to our database, we’ve been using an adapted version of FlowingData’s OpenStreetMap-based WalMart growth visualization tool to track how the crowd (and our ambassador team) are doing with adding businesses to the database.
